How much would it cost to export a car minus its engine to Australia?

if you plan on bringing it in as a car with import duties, transport etc figure around $6,000
if bringing it in as spare parts around $4,000 but it will not have import approval and cannot be registered
i would either buy a another engine/trans or part it out

Is this in the wrong section?
The car is in good condition, but failure to source parts for the engine had led me to decide to sell off the car. I could be on the loosing end as parts are dirt cheap in aust. Unless someone wants a car for parts

Bingo. Car like that over here would literally be worth like maybe $300 (yes, three hundred) if you're lucky. All of the parts and shells are super common and cheap here.

Just buy a car for the same import costs when you arrive in Australia.

I have a feeling even if you gave the car away and bought a VX here on arrival, you still would be better off in the hip pocket, than if you shipped your one with you.

I think he might be talking about sending the car from Malaysia to Australia to sell it for parts. It'd end up costing way more to do that than the car is worth, even if it was running. Better off selling it for scrap locally.
