My tip is to always install the rubber gaskets on the engine side first. You can use a little Ultra Blue or equivalent sealant to keep them in place. The top of the gasket (on the high quality ones at least) has a raised section in the middle to assist in sealing. Then fit the rocker covers on top of the gaskets. As others have said, the passenger side is easy, but fitting the driver's side is a PITA because of the brake power booster and to a certain extent by the ABS unit. I always de-pressurise the fuel system and disconnect the "quick release" connectors, to give added clearance to fasten the rear bolt on the driver side - a mirror is also useful to see what you are doing since the bolt is not visible. I use a driver with a flexible shaft to tighten the rear bolt on the driver side and also the bolts near the ABS unit.
