So I had a whole bottle of oil spill in my boot. It's all soaked into the carpet. What the best way to remove it.

I've used degreaser and some washing powder with minimal effects.

Degrease the boot itself but as far as the carpet your going to need a heavy duty cleaning agent I'm not sure on what lol

I've heard just dish washing liquid, but I'm thinking sugar soap, is that good on carpet though.

Morning fresh dishwasher detergent added to the washing machine is good for getting oil out of clothing, perhaps you could try some of that.

Oil slicks in the sea are dissolved with detergent. Perhaps soak it in a MF solution and use kitty litter to soak it up.

A whole 5 litre bottle ? thats a lot of oil so you are going to need a LOT of detergent. Dish washing liquid or degreaser sounds best, warm water will help, but you might just be better off replacing the carpet. No matter where where you do it there will be an oil slick too!

I think buying a new carpet is the best solution based on effort and time etc to clean the bad one.

Use the old one as something to kneel or lay on when working on the car if it's usable of course
