the correct name for the spanner shown in the pics is flare nut spanner.
used a lot in aircon, brakes and small hydraulics as it can grab around the pipe.
another way if you can get the other end off is to put a ring spanner over the other end of the pipe and follow the pipe up till you are at the nut.

I know a bloke who did that centy, and then used the same ring spanner to tighten the hose fittings again when he was done.
