Hi all,

there seems to be some sort of dodgey contact on my indicator... when i indicate left i have to use my finger to push the stalk inward slightly for it to work, its pretty annoying.
Was just wondering if I can fix this myself, just spray a little contact cleaner inside, or replace the stalk? But ive heard that its dangerous to fiddle around in that area as the commodore's airbag is easily set off accidentally.

is it expensive to get this repaired? Car is a VTII 2000 V6

cheers

Contact cleaner might fix the problem. Disconnect the battery beforehand to eliminate any airbag issues.

so is this a common issue with commodores? Just have to replace the stalk?

how much would it cost to get it fixed by a auto electrician... in case replacing the stalk doesnt help.

Was a 1997 vt v6 wagon
There is a detailed description on how to replace those indicator arms some where here, do a search. From memory, there is only one screw to remove, the rest just clips in place. Takes about 15 - 20 minutes to do.
