This may be a dump question, but I just want to double check before I put the new DBA rotors back on the car with new Koyo bearing

question is, the DBA streetseries rotors looks to already have bearing caps in them, my concern is do all bearings brands have the same concave shape? or should i knock the ones in the rotors out and use the ones that came with the bearings?

They should be fine, but if you are really worried, knock them out and use the bearing caps in that are in the kayo bearings just for peace of mind....It'll take a whole 5 minutes of your time for that peace of mind

Personally, I wouldn’t paint the mounting faces or only use a very thin coating on the mounting faces. I‘d be concerned about the effects of paint in the runout and how stable the tension on the wheel studs will be as the paint dries and possibly moves.

Also, the paint on the centre spigot may cause issue with the wheel mounting (or make it bind)?

I’m all for painting the hubs and rotors, just not the mounting (or the braking) surfaces..

.. and don't expect the axle end cover to survive unscathed

it has to come off (levered off or pulled off with multigrips) to allow rotors to be installed
and
then hammered back on
got touchup paint? :p
All good, the bearing cap is just sitting on there just to keep the paint out of the bearing race, it’s not pushed in, comes off by hand, and I hit them on with a rubber mullet once installed, done it many times over the year, on HQ SS, HQ deville and many escorts, here a picture of the last one I done a few years ago
