HI all I am in the process of tidying up the wiring on my VTII XU6, I am re routing the wiring for the air cond pressure switch and the intake air temp sensor, my question is, I am adding about 1 metre into the length of the negative wire from the sensor is that going to change the resistance in the wiring enough to change the value that the ECU reads from that sensor.

Cheers Chris

good automotive wire shouldnt be an issue, if u want to test it just put a multimeter on each end it should read like a dead short

I choose a heavier grade of wire than the original so sounds like it should be fine.

Cheers

The wire supplies voltage and the iat supplies resistance to the supplied voltage.
Check the voltage at the plug with the iat disconnected after you've added the extra wire. Should be around 5 volts.
If the voltage is good then you'll be fine.
