Is LG2 engine code series 1 or 2 V6?

what was i thinking, theres no series one VN out there :S...but yeh all of em have LG2 so i duno.

my sept96 built s2 VS has an engine code LG2

Had a check and the thermostat is at the front of the engne, so one would ocme to the conslusion that it is a series two

just a thought, but the LG2 code may be the same as the LN3 in the sense that they both mean V6... only thinking that because holden change their option tag codes sometimes, just like they changed their model identifier from 6H8 (vn-vx) to 6G1 (vy onwards).
like i said, nothing concrete, but its a thought
