Im currently trying to figure out the same problem, just replaced the headgasket due to it rusting through from previous owners not changing the water, now it has a consistant miss on cylinder 2 at idle

above about 1000rpm its gone, but 90% of the time at idle its missing, unplug cylinder 2 injector and the engine note barely changes.

can hear the injector ticking over, and there is spark, sparkplug is good, so whats next?

a vaccume leak couldnt cause a miss this consistant could it?

Same thing happened to me and it was the manifold gasket, tell tale signs are excess steam out of exhaust first couple of ks and sometimes when the water gets in the cylinder it's hard to crank over (like flat battery)

regards

keith
