Hey can you run without a knock sensor in a vp v8? Wire and plug are melted and having trouble finding replacement.

The last of vp v8 s and hsv had knock sensors. If its disconnected won't make a difference will it?

Only the HSV had the knock sensor. You might be talking about the oil pressure sender?

Knock sensor. My car is a "hsv enhanced" so there's a random wire running from computer to where the drivers side engine coolant drain plug would be. I thought it was an oil pressure sensor at first until I looked into it. If I leave the wire off is it gonna cause faults?

I would assume then that its not being used by the computer anyway, as otherwise you would have an engine light error code for knock sensor

The plug an wire is the same on any v6 commodore from vn to vy. Any wrecker would have heaps of these.
