Hey are these instructions accurate?
https://www.autoinstruct.com.au/man...odore/vf-using-trolley-jacks-and-jack-stands/

The main thing I’m wondering about is their claim you can safely use the front crossmember or the diff (although getting a jack under there could be a challenge) …

I’ve done all my oil-changes trying to use the slope of the driveway to give me enough clearance ‘cos I haven’t been entirely sure of the right jacking & jack-stand points, but every year it gives me the shits ‘cos there frankly ain’t enough room so THIS year I’m going to do it proper-like.

The cross member and diff is strong enough to lift the car, so it isn't a problem using them....

If there is an issue getting a jack under or you really don't want to lift the whole front or rear in one hit for what ever reason, the different options are driving onto a piece of wood to get the lift and jack from the side of the car or even jack from the lower control arms....

Gets the car high enough to get the jack in under the car.
If you stuff up, the ramps won’t damage the car.

I put stands further back as well, once the car is up. I leave the jack there unless it gets in the way.

the crossmember is fine to lift it and the diff with a rubber protector but i always went further back on the diff and lifted by the steel mount.

i use the Boganpro Povo Ramp to get clearance for the front :p

Yeah I’ve got two sets of those that came with the 2-post hoist, for getting super-low cars high enough to jack up.
Good suggestion!
Never used the hoist for the VF though, wheels-in-the-way and shed-size issues.

I tried to use the ramps to get enough height to do an oil-change, nearly but not quite!

See BoganPro Povo Ramp. There is a Deluxe version that has a second block of wood for extra height.
