Have you checked if its microchipped? (usually a green tattoo on the inside of the ear). It could have ran away and lost its collar, and being a puppy, might not know hot to get back home.

haven't ever heard of a dog being tatooed just for a microchip

u shouldnt let it sleep with ure dog.. or play or anything... it might have sum disease or something..

parvo etc..

Thats what the vet told me, look for the green tattoo, its chipped, and can find the owners details through the company.....

If she doesn't want it, leave it with the breeder to sell again, and go halvies

Maybe im wrong, but i thought it was illegal to sell dogs that are not chipped and vaccinated??

Not all dogs get tattooed when they are desexed or microchipped, only way to check for a chip is to have it scanned. Since you're in/near Port Adelaide the AWL is close by if you needed to to take it anywhere or give the PAE Council a call an let them know the situation

ive rang the RSPCA, and they said they would look into it, but it could take some time, ive also left the pup with the breeder, least he will find a better home for him now
