M30 is the Holden code for the 4 speed auto transmission.
M82 I believe is the code for the 5 speed auto transmission found in later model Commodores.
What you actually need is to get the code off your transmission which will say something like 01HBD and should be on a sticker on the transmission casing.
but generally speaking, a Transmission from a similar era car (VT,VX,VY) will work as long as it's the same type (4L60e).
