Hi guys
My issue with my MAF sensor is that when i am am travelling around 80/100 or when i take off it seems to be whistling, i think it has a crack in the hosing or something and it is sucking air.
Am i correct...shouldn't they run quiet all the time...

I am also wanting to put a pod filter on...but when i take my air box off there is a connection attached to it...what happens if this connection is removed...i gather it is some type of sensor

Cheers

Shouldn't really be whistling, just inspect the intake assembly when removed. Also check any vacuum hoses/connections near the plenum and throttle body, as they tend to make a 'whistling sound' if disconnected/damaged, it could be vacuum leak.

The connector on the air box you're referring to is the intake air temperature sensor. If it's removed it'll throw up a code, I'm not sure how it'll run after that as I've never tried it.

I wouldn't be running a pod filter at all, there's nothing wrong with the factory set up, but if you really have your heart set on it, I'd leave the intake air temperature sensor connected and mount it securely near the pod with some sort of bracket.

Can I replace the air intake hose with one of these?

As long as it's the same size and shape, don't see why not.

That sensor you were talking about (IAT), measures the temperature of the air
going in to the intake manifold.
This, combined with other factors, determines the air/fuel mixture that is used.

Not having it plugged in will, as said before put up a fault code and
will stuff up the air/fuel mixture.
In other word, your engine will not be running to it's maximum capabilities.
