A press conference is due , to announce that the flight was high jacked ,possibly aided by one of the pilots . Watch this space .

Like they didn't know that on the day it went missing...
I wonder what they did with the passangers?
The whole thing has been handled so dodgy.

Taken bloody long enough to get to that conclusion.

Switching off the transponder is easy enough. Switching off the flight monitoring system takes a little more effort. If they managed to switch that off they may very well have also switched off the flight data and voice recorders so if it did crash they may not contain any info past that point.

Airline pilots would certainly know how to disable these systems.......

Last night at RSL trivia we called ourselves 'Airplane!' after the 1980 Leslie Nielsen air-disaster-movie spoof. Not the best taste I know, but suggestions of 'Dud, where's my plane?' and 'Airport '13' were vetoed by table members......

The whole lot (flight monitoring systems/ black box etc..) should be locked away somewhere un accessible during flight.

Apparently passangers phones were still ringing days after they lost contact.
Couldn't telco's establish gps coordinates?

I reckon they probably suspected that all along too ,keeping it quiet from the media perhaps until a solution is reached possibly ?

Everything is routed through the cockpit so that the pilots can monitor all systems during a flight.

The black box issue was raised because of pilot disclosure issues in an incident/accident. The way the system works, pilots are suppose to report all incidents on a "no fault" basis. If these reports could be used to prosecute pilots it was faired that they may switch off monitoring systems during a flight to "cover their backsides" in case of an incident/accident occurring.

I think its all secret at the minute making up all these theories up as they don't want the world to panic over the truth.
