An oil change is a good idea. My gears freed up after I put penrite in so it will be worth it regardless imo.

Could be clutch related sounds like it might not be fully engaging so check your fluid first of all. Worst case is you're slave cylinder or pressure plate are gone. One thing though I find is when I haven't fully engaged my clutch is my gears grind.

And I guess worst worst case scenario is your syncros have had it but hopefully not.

Yeah mate I think ur spot on with the oil change. No grinding what so ever so I think syncros are fine. All clutch kits seem to include slave cylinder, fly wheel and of course clutch. So I'll try oil first and cheap option then obviously probably clutch kit which I will wait until totally f***ed.

the manuals are a bit of a rugged box but should be smooth, the gearbox oil is ment to be sealed for life so it may have never been changed so id first change the oil it may help and it should feel better either way, jap manuals are a totally different feel there more like just shifting a stick where the LS manuals are like changing a gear

As 07GTS stated above, the first thing to do isa replace the oil with the Penrite.
you also need to remember that these T56 gearboxes will never, ever, be as smooth as a Japanese gear box, they are a bit truck like in their operation.

Holden use ATF auto fluid in the manual box - its disgraceful - like red cordial. Just drain and refill with the previously suggested penrite 70w75 progear and after 2 days of driving you wont have the complaint anymore.
