That Regal is very similar in appearance to our VT Commodore, which ran from late 97 to around 200. It had the 3800 but Commodores have always been RWD.

I was looking at that. All the supercharged 3800 cars here are FWD or wrong wheel drive. All of my supercharged cars ran mid to high 13's in the 1/4 mile.
They used the 4T65EHD transmission, might as well have used glass...I had everyone rebuilt with good parts.

theres great feed back and ideas there.

as some have pointed out, gaining much from a N/A is costly. little things like:

- 3.9 Diff Gears w/ LSD
- CAI
- Rockers
- Exhaust
- Shiftkit Auto (providing its Auto)

are reasonable* on price. it wont be a powerhouse but youll notice it on the street, and make it more enjoyable to drive.

Yep, they go great with a cog swapper behind em :)

I vote for diff gears and stally behind a n/a ecotec, they are geared all wrong from the factory and they lack low rpm torque too like the older 3800 V6 (Buick engines) had.

Some simple bolt-on mods can make these much better to drive but if you're after large power increases than FI is the only real answer. This is all covered in threads in the V6 development section linked earlier in this thread.

Only the L36 not the L67, but some of us have converted the L67 to manual.
You poor guys missed the boat by having a FWD.....

It is funny that it would have taken you about 2 minutes more than what it took the others to type a dribble response.

Good to see some are still helpful. :)

Lighten up. One of the posters did provide useful info. Yeah some of us had a laugh because this is such a hackneyed topic.

Didn't see anything helpful from you, though. Just a whinge about the rest of us.

It would have only taken YOU two minutes to help oldmate, too. So why didn't you? You've posted twice in this thread and added nothing worthwhile, yet your signature indicates you run a modified 6.

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum - how's things? Just out of curiosity what are some mods to do a stock ecotec (n/a) to pump out a bit more grunt

Vx S pack.

Cheers

Check out Mace Engineering , they have a ton of bits and bobs for the ecotec , they are also sponsors here and have a thread for V6 development also .
