I have to agree with everyone else. Pedders is not the messiah, in fact they are very naughty boys - according to A Current Affair. They have been busted in the past and if you type Pedders Suspension and A Current Affair into Goggle, you may have a better idea of where your $4,480 worth of labour and parts will be getting you. Good luck with what you decide. But $4,480 and I bet you won't get a written guarantee that it will solve your problem.

yeah cheers ,didnt realise they had such a bad rap,most of my problem solving decisions are based off info ive researched off this site,will definately take it elsewhere for a 2nd opinion ,bad news is it has been thrashed so i think im gunna be out of pocket at the end of the day anyway but hopefully on things it actually needs

You keep saying it has been thrashed. Why did you buy it, or didnt you know this before?? And, as stated, Pedders, all Bull.
Hey, for that money, drive it down my way, and my suspension bloke will fix it no problems, and he will tell you, and show you the faulty parts.

I have only ever spent $15 a Pedders for one of their "checks" but I rate them one rung up the ladder from the local dealer given my personal experience. It goes like this.................

Had a terible vibration in my 07 Calais from the front left when going around right hand bends at high speed (80-90kph) so a my next dealer service (1st mistake) got them to check it out "under warranty" but the result was no fault found and this was the last service prior to reaching 100K km.

Not happy I booked it into Pedders and as a result ended up with a report quoting $1500 as front right shock leaking badly so need to replace both and strut tops/bearings and a few front end bushes etc.

Not happy I left them saying I need to find cash but as it was under warranty planned to get it checked again at my the next service (2nd mistake) but again but no fault found and car now out of warranty period. Thought to myself "bloody Pedders" but still had the vibration issue.

Anyhow when getting new tyres a few week latter my mate (tyre fitter) told me the vibration was probably just my ABS activating due to have new tyes on the front and really bald tyres on the rear. Thought to myself again "rubbish" but as soon as the tyres were fitted off I went to a local corner when I know it always happens and no matter what speed I took it at the vibration was gone. My mate was a genius and even more so because when he swapped the front rims to the rears he told me that my front left shock was leaking and should be replaced even though I didn't mention the shock.

So the lessons I learnt were (1) Pedders may over quote on repairs but at least the diagnosed a fault that the dealer denied was there; (2) Don't get anything fixed at Pedders as I fixed everything on their report at the tyre shop for under $500 using my own supplied parts using a discount card I have for the spare parts at the dealer; and finally (3) dealers suck at service.

Pedders charge $14 for a suspension check, where as JAX and most other places charge nothing enough said!

I went to Pedders and they wanted $2000+ to fix my suspension, I took it to my local JAX and got the problem fixed for $370 and received the best customer service from that particular shop.

PEDDERS ARE ****! REALLY REALLY ****!!

im all out of options for the brisbane area to take it,i really dont trust anyone one these days been to brendale p/t they deal only in engines ,driveline specialists a few random machanics,i agree with what posts are saying machanics and so called specialists seem to have a policy where they just guess and replace until they strike it lucky ,just had diff and engine mounts replaced because a drive line specialist said that those were making the knocks i was hearing, soon they'l run out of things to replace lol

3 places come to mind. 1. fulcrum suspension at stafford, ask for Barry, good bloke knows his ****. 2. Redcliffe springs and suspension, speak to paul - the owner, been going there for years. he also knows his **** and will be straight down the middle with you about any probs he finds. 3 I've haven't used these guys but have heard nothing but good about them- Leda suspension brendale. They do a lot of rally sport stuff as well as custom set ups and are supposed to be very cluey

Just want to add to the above.
If a fault is reported to Holden prior to the warranty running out and you take it back after with the same complaint, they have to honour it. Not really related to the OP as his was mistreated but on a unmodified and well looked after car they have to repair it, even if they couldn't replicate the fault while it was under warranty. Apparently the service guys aren't allowed to suggest it, but if the customer asks they have to honour it.
