Depends on what you want from it, how much you want to spend, how much you're willing to keep spending, so on and so forth.

There is no right answer. What do you want from this car?

honestly with the sorta money your lookin at id go NA but with an ls1 not the 304 would be very similar cost and power output as a charger or turbo setup and then you can always add a turbo or charger setup to the ls1 later :D

You can get quite alot out of the 5litre NA, for a street car I think it's enough. Unless you are looking for sub 12's at the 1/4 mile then it's easier to make it there with some boost

LSx with supercharger sounds magic, but yeah, nothing sounds like a good n/a 308/304

as much as id love a massively powerful NA 5L, i think a SC is the best option, easy of installation, efficiency, power gains etc.

n/a 5ltrs sound unreal, went to a wedding yesterday and my mate picked me up in his VS HSV GRANGE, sounded awesome, its dead stock but that 308/304 sound compared to my gen3 was a real v8 sound with the nice lumpy v8 burbal they have,

but i'm a big fan of a nice cam and s/c on top that sounds even better with the lumpy v8 burbal on idle and the s/c wine as you boot off into the distance :D

best thing with the 304/308 engines is that you can get the vortech style side mount blower or the top mount, so lots of options on the market and the top mount is still easy to work around doesn't take up room as its you intake manifold too. and from what iv been told the bottom end holds up well on the 304/308 motors with a s/c, but can always upgrade it with a nice 355 stroker.

good luck with your choice.

I am a fan of a high revving/ big cam/ thumping exhaust N/A cars.

However I mean no disrespect if you have a supercharged or turbocharged car.
It is all about personal preference
