The IP changes depending where you are connected (Hot Spots, Internet Cafes, etc) or the DHCP server changed the IP due to lease expiration from the ISP but still the same network subnet. However, the part that cannot be changed and is unique is/are the MAC Address/es for your Wireless or/and RJ45 NIC. In some systems you can change the number. If you use Windows do an "ipconfig /all" in the command console; you will see the MAC Address/es. On Linux, type "ifconfig" in the command console; for a list of switches, just Google "Linux ifconfig commands". If you do not want your IP to come up, take your laptop to an internet cafe and use their NAT or go wardriving and find an unsecured WiFi spot and piggyback on their NAT.
