Need Alternator NOW

Hi Guys,

Im in need of an alternator like yesterday, mine is dead. Repco, Bursons, Supercheap and all the usual places are out even holden are out. Mainly because Bosch are out of stock for 3 - 5 more weeks(friends work for bosch).

So my call goes out to you all, does anyone have an alternator as a spare they can sell me on the cheap?

Its for a V8 series 1 Calais. Or if someone knows where i can get a 3rd party one that puts out more amps than the stock alternator?

please help i cant get to work without my car

have you tried the wreckers yet? even if its a shitty one it will do till you get a new one

ye im with walesy, try the wreckers... either that or a mechanic might have one floating around his shop he'll sell ya.. meh u can only ask!

Re Build

Have you considered new Bearings, Brushes, Reg, and Rectifier?
Then a coat of paint and as NEW:thumbsup:

I have called a few wreckers and i have been told around the $150 - $250 mark with no warranty. I can get the new one from bosch for $144.

How much will it cost to get mine reconditioned? everyone is closed now so has any one had this done?
