Would suggest a flat tow to your local automatic gearbox repair shop.

So how is a gearbox shop going to help, when it selects gears, but won't actually move?

If it selects gears, that means the gearbox is actually working....There will be a problem inbetween the gearbox and the diff...

If the diff is buggered, I'd imagine there would be one hell of a noise.
Look under the car at the tail shaft. Is it broken? It will be easy to see.

If the above check out, guess what, the gearbox is flogged.
The old "box full of neutrals" trick.

I can't see the trans really being operational. Even if the tail shaft was missing then oil would be pouring out the back of the trans...... I could be wrong but I think you would hear something if the diff was blown. I guess to test OP could pull the handbrake on drop it into drive and have a look to see if the shaft is spinning.
