I Have a new set of Crow Cams lifters for my 202, This is the first time replacing these for me. They have some little pits on the bottom of the lifters. Is this normal? or are these defective? Any help would be apricated.

I don't think that is normal. Contacted the supplier?

Not sure, I thought crow cam stuff was made in USA but after looking under what they make section on their website, lifters are not listed. Possibly put their name on a chinese product.

Chinese steel often has air bubbles in it. Which makes me think the blanks could be from Chinese product.

Hmm, yeah they do look like air bubbles. I can't really feel them when I run my nail over them. So I don't think they will be abrasive. Not sure if they are safe to use though.

Look like they're made from junk metal...quality control took a big dive during covid for lots of car parts & not much customer can do about it other than complain & return item.

Yeah, I have heard that. It's hard to know what brand to get. I was looking online at some delphi ones as an alternative and I'm sure I can actually see these pits in the photos of those too.

Heard of a few blokes getting machinists to resurface their old name brand lifters...good if you're an old revhead & parts hoarder but not many of us are these days.
