New Statesman

Anyone read the bible (Cars Guide from the Herald Sun) today? It has a shot of the new Statesman on a turn off to Pakenham (surprise, surprise). Notice the size and they beautiful black alloys! Mmmm, this will be a very nice car, especially the upper class model, I thinks its getting the 6L V8!

hatchback?

Looking at the picture in cars guide - you can't help wondering if that sweeping rear glass and small boot lid has a hatchback looming.

Would'nt be the the first éxecutive'' class vehicle to do that - the old Rover 3.5 , Granada (Uk) -I'm sure there are/where others.

I wonder if the new Statesman will get a power upgrade from a 260kw 6.0L....If the standard VE exec is going to be 10-15% heavier than the current VZ, the statesman will probably follow suit.
