Hi, my VS 3.8 is starting to get noisey around the manifold area on the left hand side. I'm pretty sure it's the manifold gasket on it's way out. How hard is this to replace. Has anyone repaired one at home or is this a workshop job. Any advice welcome.

Thanks, wpr.

On my car which is a VR the left hand exhaust manifold cracked near the rear cylinder and gave the impression the flange was leaking.

Hi Troy & markovr, I'm unsure on how to tell the difference, maybe the exhaust, similar noise and location to markovr VR, rear left side of engine up around flange area. On a quick inspection I can't see any cracks yet. I'll need to have a really good look this weekend. Thanks for the feed back. Will post results.

Thanks, wpr.

Hi guys, here's an update on my manifold problem, noise is definately from the exhaust manifold, rear left cylinder area, gave the exhaust pipe a good shake and nothing was loose, will probably take it to an exhaust speacialist after Easter for a quote on parts and labour then sort things out from there. Thanks.

Regards wpr.
