odometer reading 55555

Guys

Was crusing along the other day, and my dash died, speedo kept working but i lost all my lights and computer, when it came back my odometer was reading 55555.

Ive checked all my fuses and stuff, no problems

Any ideas? Had around 270 000 on the clock

hasnt moved of the 55555- its very strange, i have blown a fuse once before, but it retained all that information, so thats what i thought it was initially

At least its not 666666 the sign of the devil!

Trip comp in the cluster has corrupted, need to find someone capable of reprogramming it or just get another cluster.

What casues the Cluster to Corrupt?

Would an auto elec be able to repair? Or for price of 2nd hand cluster just replace it?

If i replace, will it keep all the info previously held re K's ect?

I had a digital watch do that once.
Have you disconnected the battery for a bit to see if it resets?
It worked with the watch.

These things happen..... could be anything from the chips age or it got a small power spike..
If they have the correct tool to plug into the cluster they might be able to (but if it's the chip itself at fault then probably not)
No, your cluster is wiped, odo km's are gone. Only way to get them back is to reprogram it or find another cluster with the same km's on it.
