For a fully reconditioned rack on ebay for my VS, I paid around $220, have a look on ebay before buying one through a local mechanics etc.

I know that it doesn't help you solve your problem, but always go with the rule of 3 if you're getting someone to do the work, and get 3 different guys too quote you. At least that way, you'll know if you're being ripped off or not

I got quoted $300 for a reco one from Holden and $150 to fit it by a mechanic, and then just a wheel alignment and your set.

If your handy with tools and got a set of car ramps there pretty simple to fit yourself.

I thought I needed a new steering rack, turns out I only needed rack ends. $35 each and bam, drives beautifully.

i'm in the nothern subs, I have a slight leak (coulpe of drops of P/S oil over night) and I belive its the steering rack so I would like to replace it
