HI ALL

I JUST BROUGHT THIS 95 VS 5 SPEED UTE AND THE MOTOR IS MISSING SLIGHTLY IVE CHANGED

SPARK PLUGS
PLUG LEADS
FUEL FILTER
AND A COIL PACK
IVE PUT INJECTION CLEANER IN IT BUT STILL NO BETTER

WHEN YYOU PUT THE FOOT DOWN YOU CAN FEEL IN THE MOTOR ITS JERKING A LIL BIT, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY THOUGHTS ON WHAT IT COULD BE

Try popping the bonnet tonight while its dark (and cold) and then with the motor running look for any high voltage leakage coming from the plugs/leads/coil pack. Sometimes its as simple as a plug lead not fully pushed home. Utes sometimes have problems when the fuel tank is less than 1/2 full due to the fuel return line. I hope its simple!!!!!

I had this problem at one stage... but only under 2000rpm.

I cut 2 wires on my oxygen sensors and it solved the problem.

Could be the other coils if you only changed one.
Could also be your ignition module under the coils.
Also double check you leads, we put new leads on a mates car,
and one of the leads had come out of the clip that goes on the end of the spark plug.
Solved his missing prob.

ok so we have done everything you guys have said but still no difference.when you rev the car it sounds good it only misses when you are under load it sounds just like it does when a spark leads goes but thats not the problem.
anyone got any other thoughts:bang:

Pull out all your plugs and check the gaps, sometimes they get dropped or knocked and the gap gets closed slightly can cause a miss.

Have you tried removing one injector lead at a time to see if you have a crook injector?

When you say a miss, is it like a hesitation? Is it evident both when it's in neutral and when it's driving? Does it get better when the engine is warm?

If it's a series one, could it be the defective ecu? Does the engine also ping lightly under throttle?

If so, check your memcal and see if it's got "BSTK1451" on it. If it does, get a reprogrammed one with the updates.

EDIT: Is it a V6 or V8? If it's a V8, completely disregard this.
