Hi All,

Yesterday I noticed there was a bright orange fluid dripping down onto my sump. I immediately thought this might be coolant? But it seems quick thick and oily to touch. It appears to be dripping down the front of the engine, possibly from the top pulley.

Any advice on what this might be, things to check etc? Cheers all.

with it being that bright i would guess coolant too,
dont think it would be transmission oil up the front there so maybe power steering fluid?
maybe check the colour of that.
have a look at it running hot see if its coming from the water pump.

the holden factory coolant is "long life" and its red, so the colour will change slightly.

And the water pumps have been spitting the dummy :banstick:

I havent replaced it, but I think the current radiator cap is on its way out... What impact could this have?

I had the power steering and water pumps replaced around 9 months ago... so strange they are failing again, could it be anything else? If not I guess at least it will be a warranty claim...

Take the pulley off the water pump to find where the
coolant is coming from.
The gasket sealant on my pump failed. You could try and
nip the pumps bolts up a bit if weeping from gasket.
Careful as the bolts are only 10nm.

When you change your cap, your system will pressurise fully and that pump leak will get lots worse. If you do your pump, change your cap too. Its only 11bux at supa cheap.
