I got one today and it turned a good day to ****.

Anyway what happened, this guy parked a truck and left the rear hanging halfway across the driveway at work, and no-one said anything, and I had no idea it was there. So I am working on a customers car on the hoist, and once I finish it I go to back it out of the yard, as I turn full lock to miss the back fence (looking in the passenger side mirror), I see that I am going to clear it and go to take off, next thing, bang! reversed the customers car straight into the side of the truck and I was absolutely shattered, truck was in my blind spot and I didn't see it at all.

Anyway, it was a Toyota Echo, damaged the tail gate, rear bumper, broke off the rear wiper arm. Went in and told my boss to come out straight away and he told me not to worry because his insurance will cover it, but he could really see how upset I was, worst feeling ever.

Here is a photo of how the truck parked:

And no I don't have a photo of the damage to the car.

So which way were you going? Towards the front of the truck or the other way?
Always fun backing into things in someone elses car.

Well the fence you can see in the picture (to the left), the hoist is parallel with that fence, so you have to do a 90 degree turn to get the car out. That truck was right where I couldn't see it.

only took me 20mins in dog time ;)

Think was probably inexperience perhaps.
Maybe check next time to see if any obscructions and parking spots, especially being a footpath there and possible pedestrians

scvs6 - not having a go at you in any way okay

Don't worry, to explain properly to show you what I mean, I would have to take photos of where the hoist/car was and how you have to back it out.

Doesn't matter now anyway, already happened and there isn't much I can do about it now. I have already offered to pay for the repairs to the car.

Dont worry, you will probably never do it again.
