Hey guys this is off my vs calais. The motor is out of a vt though. This has never been plugged in so im guessing maybe the vs never had it.

The pipe on the top comes from the intake manifold into this then out the other pipe to the exhaust.

The top pipe broke off as you can see and the car ran like crap. If i cap the pipe though it's ok.. Does the vs need this or can i just cap either end and leave this out?

Thanks in advance

Joe

Its the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) pipe and valve. VSV6 models never used EGR, it was introduced on VT models, so the engine must be from a later model. You can fit VS inlet and exhaust manifolds to a later model engine and then you dont have to stuff around blocking these up etc.
