[VIC] Plenum gaskets??

Call me stupid but I can't find any info about the plenum for my vx commodore stock v6. I just wanted to know why is it when you get a plenum gasket why is there 2 do both need to be used or do you just use the 1 gasket that matches your plenum pattern hopefully someone can answer my blonde moment question.
