VS v6
I'm looking at buying a vz sv6 with 130k on the clock and was wondering about the pros and cons of the model?
Cheers

Weak 5 speed trans and alloytecs are renowned for being an expensive and unreliable engine. The rest of the car is good, the driveline just lets them down unfortunately. If you want a v6, investigate a vy or earlier.

Eyy is right. Not a bad car as said though the driveline is average.

Make sure it has full and complete service records, or look around for a lower mileage VE

With VE, u gotta watch the timing chain though.
Go with a low k series 2 VX n above if u can.
VY 2004 is great :)

You have to watch out for timing chains for ve? It was s1 vz that had the faulty chains n changed out in late 05 06 from memory.

The newer ones have chain issues but it's from bad maintenance and the feed hole becoming blocked vf will too if they haven't enlarged the hole.

Had an svz Ute with 5 speed unsure if was freak Mrs was useless with having it serviced and was pre paid due to salary sacrifice and I refused to do it. Went 20k over due once.

Got written off at 240k no issues motor or box but then I need to fix a few with less kms at work. They seen hit n miss

alloytecs are renowned for being an expensive and unreliable...

Haha, OK mate. the Alloytec SV6 driveline in my car has been the cheapest, most reliable car I've ever owned and I've owned 25+ cars. To the original OP, just buy the VZ with 130K kms and enjoy it.

No big issues here but definitely take the time and check it has a good service history. 130ks looks good for a vz, good luck.
