Love some of the replies in this thread, quite predictable. For those who care this group do this intentionally so as to extort money from people. They identify someone they think has money and is vulnerable and they brake check them until an accident occurs. Then they surround the vehicle and threaten the occupants, slash tyres etc. A copper ran one of the tards down as well not long ago, probably trying to stop him after similar wreckless behaviour. There's a news report going around for anyone interested.

This discussion has been taking place on quite a few bike forums too. Not many have sympathy for these guys and are blaming them for giving those who ride a bad name pretty much.

Not particularly. For once it would appear that common sense has prevailed. If there is a prescribed defence to an offence and the evidence suggests that defence was clearly applicable in this case then the prosecutor would never approve the case going to court. On the vision I have seen it looks clearly the case that the guy had a real and genuine fear for the safety of both himself and his family which justified the actions that he then undertook. It appears that the authorities agree.

Lets be clear here - all the mob had to do was take the registration number of the vehicle in question and a description of the driver. From there tracking down the owner would be relatively straight forward. There was no need to be smashing up the car, opening the doors and dragging him from the vehicle.

That would have been the most sensible thing to do , but when the pack mentality comes into play , and strength in numbers , common sense and common decency, sadly occasionally go out the window , as has been shown in this instance .
