RB30 versus V6 rivalry.

Hey guys
My cousin just bought a vl non turbo manual commodore. its got extractors and a 2.5 inch exhuast.
and he thinks its an animal lol.. he even rekons it will beat me vr v6. ive got 2.5 inch exhuast,cold air intake, k&n filter,bellmouth out and 8mm leads.
ive read up that from factory non turbo vl commodores do 0 to 100 in 9.2 seconds.
the best time ive got with mine on the g-tech is 7.6.
does he stand a chance??

my bros auto vl was that slow off the line compared to my vs, top end was about the same but, maybe better in the vl

114kW and 247Nm pushing 1300kg, versus a 130kW and 295Nm pushing 1400kW. If his is a manual and your is an auto, then it theoretically should be pretty close. But that doesn't take outside circumstances into effect, driver ability, weight of crap inside car, etc etc.

I opened this thread expecting to see a v6 buick or ecotec running a quick time like a vl 9sec?

I still firmly beleive the v6 turbo is the new vl

In saying that a worked VL is way way faster than a buick.

my moneys on the buick..i can beat my mates r31..but i think the vl's have a better engine or somethin..so should be tight
