Hey i was thinking about taking off the rear muffler and just putting a straight through on until i can afford a decent setup but i was told it would just sound crap so i need some opinions on this please.

Do it, i did it and its not that loud but better sounding, i never noticed any drone that people say you will get.

Anyway if you really hate it you can always put it back on.

Sounds crap IMO, do the cat back in a 2 1/2" if you want a better sound.

I have been planning on replacing mine with a hotdog resinator. Any idea what it will sound like?

Well like most things in life you'll need to spend money to see good results. That said, a cheap cat back exhaust should give it a better sound, although possibly some drone still (ive found cheaper systems drone quite badly).

I recently changed my exhaust to include pacemaker extractors, CAT and rear resonator... The sound is pretty good. Best part, at 2000rpm or lower i cannot hear the exhaust AT ALL. Kinda handy on the freeway etc, as its really quite. Put your foot down and it comes to life.
