Red or green coolant

I have a vt ls1 ,I'm not sure what coolant it was running as it system was full of water,just wondering would it hurt if I put red coolant in anyways?

Just buy the genuine coolant from the dealer $50 from memory.

Cheers mate, what colour is it green or red? Also I was told using the wrong colour coolant can blow your water pump fairy tale or true?

its just a dye, red is for alloy blocks, green for iron blocks. Red is for the LS1

mate whether its red or green it doesnt matter as long as the collant system is flushed and (bleeded) in the correct way using 50w/50c. green or red its same ****. goodluck

oh by the way the geniune coolant is for 40$ and its 4 ltrs... to me i used nulon green long life concerate its for 29$ at supercheap it makes up to 15 ltre.

My VX was running red coolant when I got it so that's what I replaced the coolant with. My levels have never moved even slightly since I've had the car...

there NOT the same, red has the preservatives and additives which wont help corrode the alloy block. i use a red nulon concentrate which i got from autobahn for $55 and a bottle of demineralised water $8

The problem u get is if u mix the 2 different coolants together..
They can make a slime and block everything all up

ls1 and alloytec has red coolant it is a long life 5 year 100,000km coolant. Green coolant is for v6 pre alloytec and v8 pre ls1 and it is a 3year 60,000km coolant
