Removing IRS Diff Centre.

Hey guys.

i cracked open my IRS Diff today.

im just trying to figure out how to get the center out.

it's different to a Live axle, doesnt have shims?... or am i looking in the wrong area?...

also do the axle's have to come out??...

(the only way i can see the Center coming out is if i pull both axles out... then it seems like it'll just fall out maybe?...) (by the looks of it)

thanks... photo's up soon

yeap u have to remove the 2 drive shafts for the axles and the centre should either just come out or there are a couple of bolts holding it in. cant remember if there are bolts on the irs or live diff, but the drive shafts must come out.

Agreed, you have to remove the Driveshafts from the diff, to get the diff out, also other diff mount bolts etc. removing the centre is easy, and the cones, however, rebuilding, or refixing ie realighning the crown wheel and pinion.

Remember, its easier pulling something apart, than putting it back together

ok im pulling it apart to get the centre out for my Live axle.....

so i shouldnt have a problem then aye??... cause it's pretty straight forward putin the center into the live axle.. just need to torque the shims right yeah??..
