removing the tube shape rear muffler on standard v6 exhaust

guys does any1 no how much of a job the rear tube shape muffler on a standard vs v6 exhuast system does ?i was toying with the idea of removing it ,is it just another muffler or does it do another function as well ? cheers muz

It'll give you a bit more of a note down low, but if your exhaust has the flexi pipe you'll get a loud whistle out the exhaust at higher rpm, people will mistake your car for a low flying 747. If you're going to delete the rear muffler, you'd better delete that as well. All that aside, removing the rear muffler should have zero negative effect on the workings of everything else.

it will sound louder as the muffers do exactly that, muffle the sound. wont be a problem as camstatic said on any negative effects. it just might sounds ****, might!

The main question is why are you toying with the idea of removing it? what are you trying to achive?

The rear one is called a resinator, I`d thought I`d throw that in learning FTW.
