you need fuel, air, spark and compression. your engine isnt getting one of these.

youve tested the spark and fuel, so that only leaves you with 2 options.
has said above have you checked compression?

i commend people for not ripping on him for posting in the wrong section.
GOOD WORK MY FELLOW COMMODORIANS!

if you are 100% sure of the timing then compression sounds likely
is it even firing once or back firing ?

the compression seems fine... it isnt kicking over or back firing

have you checked with a mazda forum??????

(am i the only one that thinks this is weird???)

this is weird because noone would talk to me in the mazda site about it and this site people actually reply
plus its the same basic theory anyway

am guessing overhead cam, if so did you put a new timing chain on it? Chains can stretch and look lineed up correctly but actually be out by a cog. the only other thing if it has fuel is the dizzy timing close to being set properly?

ok. so it looks like its the timing belt. its throwing out the timing quater of a turn one time then the next time it threw it out half a turn, does that sound like the timing belt
