I first time I heard of Ken Block was in an article in Hot Rod. He had an insane four wheel drive Mustang that he threw around with incredible skill. His daughter is also a very accomplished driver. RIP Ken, you will be sorely missed.

Edit. Just read he died in a snowmobile accident, He was 55. He would have packed twice as much in those 55 years than the ordinary person would have done in their life time.

He was 1st or 2nd ranked on the US Rally series last I heard.

Young Lia has also been doing really well as a young driver on the Rally scene. On her first rally, she did not finish last. In fact there was quite a few people that finished after her. Her Dad has been training her well.

I love the series when people think they are going to race Ken in the AWD Hoonicorn Mustang, and they race Ken’s daughter instead. Then she flogs most of them. Again her Dad’s training shines through.

I really hope Lia continues in her Dads footsteps when she is ready, and not let this change her current mindset and performance.

Ken’s wife has also been involved with the Rally team.

Many may not know him but the influence he has had on the automotive industry is quite remarkable.

A hard day for a lot of people. One of those things, that for some elsewhere in the world, is going to be as significant to them as it was for us when we all were stopped in our tracks with the news that Peter Brock died.
