The new wireless modem Telstra has is about 90 bucks last time I installed one. Easy to setup and use. No stuffing around with bridging etc.

Just had a quick look at Telstra's modems and looks like that's what I'll do.

Top stuff mate. Repped.

Sorry, I haven't read the whole thread, but if this is about ADSL modems, it is important to remember that some modems are better for under 3km cable length from the exchange, and others are better for connections that are over 3km.

It depends on the type of chip in the modem. I am about 3kms and recently changed modems and gained about 6% to 10% in speed.

All sorted. Ended up just buying a modem/router. Bit dearer than Telstra's one but it meant I didn't have to deal with Telstra either, which makes it worth it lol.

Belkin. Why's that? I looked into it a bit and couldn't find anything too bad about them.

Have fun with Telstra in the future if you ever have issues with your adsl connection. They will always blame your gear before admitting they have a fault.

Only if they know about it. I've still got the Telstra modem here for a quick swap if needed.

Billion are seriously underrated . You get the features of a $500 router for $120 on some models.
