Just like the army, there is a %age who join the cops as it's a legal excuse to carry and shoot at other human beings, there are also plenty who don't want to shoot or run towards a shooter as we saw at a different school shooting recently where the cops waited and one actually just took cover. I believe a whole lot of cops either resigned or got fired for that one.

Regardless, it's to easy for unstable teenagers to get a hold of semi-auto, high capacity firearms where it's very easy to do this sort of damage.

Ultimately teenagers are immature, emotive and impulsive and that does not go well with easily accessible firearms.
