I had a similar problem with my VY V6 about 2.5 years ago. While it was not as bad as that on the cap there was some oil in the radiator. It turned out that the inlet manifold bolts had all come loose. I tightened them up and to this day the car is fine and there is no oil in the radiator or coolant in the engine sump

Wasn't exactly a mechanic but I didn't know the politically correct term for a radiator repair guy.
