Snapped bolt.help!

Gday guys, I was tightening uP the nut that holds the bottom of the shock. And it snapped off with the thread. How do I put a new thread? Or how do I fix it?

or tap it out to one size bigger. did any of the thread snap off in there you might need some easy outs to get it out if it did

take the shock back off, if you're lucky, there may be a piece of bolt protruding. Grab these as tight as you can with vice grips and try and remove it.

The bolt that the shock slides over it actually apart of the diff. So the shock still sits in place, just the thread on the end has been snapped off.

So its not actually a bolt.
Best bet would be to get a set of easy outs, drill the bolt and remove it.

What he said, use easy outs, failing that weld a nut to the top of it and undo it that way

The bolt that the shock slides over it actually apart of the diff. So the shock still sits in place, just the thread on the end has been snapped off.

the bottom of the shock should sit between 2 plates of metal with a nut and bolt going through those and the shock to hold it in place, inline with the lower control arm..... should slide out pretty easily and not be attached to the rear axle, only thing i can think of matching your description is the panhard rod mount

Its a wagon I thinks old mates activar gives it away. How tight did you go to break that? weld a piece of a bolt on to it.

i'll blame the gregorys manual then, thought wagons were different but when i checked the book the only mention of any change was the top shock mount for a wagon
