(Solved) Windshield rubber degraded, should I be worried?

How worried should I be about water ingress due to this rubber seal degrading so much? What about the windshield itself coming loose?

What can I do to fix/get a replacement? Is this a job for a glass repair company, or would someone else be better suited? Any idea if it will cost an arm and a leg?

Na. They are just a trim. Decoration. They pull off. New ones are available. Not expensive and you can easily do it yourself. Easier than wrapping a present.
