My sv8 doesnt have speakers in the parcel shelf. i would like to install some 6x9s in it. problem is i cant seem to find any wires.

can anyone tell me if there is any hidden speaker wires or do i have to splice into the rear door speakers?

Cheers

You can use the signal from the rear speakers wires, but how do you plan on setting all this up? What other components do you have in the car at the moment?

mate, you already have 4 speakers and a 4 channel stereo.... where are you expecting to find extra wires?

If you want the shelf over rear doors, just extend the door wires...

i cut the rear door speaker wires off at the head unit and ran speaker wire from the head unit to the rear off the car along the left hand side of the car.. and into the 6x9's and ordered the grills from holden..

do you need to model numbers for the grills?

Why do you want the 6x9's? If its for extra bass without having to use a sub, then definately run them off an amp. If it's for anything else, don't put them in

Was gunna ditch the rear door speakers run front splits off an amp 6x9s in parcel of amp and run 2 12" subs in boot.

Was thinking alpine pdx 5 channel?

Any good? open for ideas?

i wanted the rear speaker wire to run high level inputs so i didnt needa replace my deck cos i cant afford another grand for a deck.

$1000 for a head unit? Don't they sell cheap single DIN setups that slide underneath to fill the missing DIN when you replace it with a single DIN unit.

Wow i just said DIN a lot lol.

If so a few hundred bucks should get you by allright....

If you going for subs then don't bother with the 6x9s.
