executive vt 5.0lt VZ CREWMAN
i have a 5lt v8, when i start the car the starter motor engages the fly wheel and the engine starts, but the starter does not disengage i have to turn the key back to disengage the starter. is there something wrong with the starter oer is it a electrical problem thanks

your actual ignition switch has a faulty return spring
this is the electrical switch at the end of the ignition barrel

Thanks for that I changed that but still doing it may have to get another one

If the key is returning, then I say a bad solenoid which is keeping the ring gear engaged. Check also the wiring is tight and clean to the solenoid.

Oh, forgot to mention a sticky starter relay also. Any how good luck.

op advised that they have to turn key back to disengage starter
