Strange noises, unsure if problematic.

Commodore VE SV6 2010

Please see attached.
It’s a sv6 2010, I brought it about a month ago. And it’s making this strange noise. No check engine light, and it’s consistent.
Just wanting to see if I should take precautions.

Thank you and I apologise if this has been asked before

Could you reshoot a clearer video that goes for a bit longer? It's kind of hard to tell what it is and where it's coming from...

Hard to tell like Commo64 said, need it a bit longer but if I had to guess from that short video and what I hear it sounds like a water pump or alternator bearing but that is just a WAG

Sounds like a bearing maybe on the belt tensioner pulley.
I would take the belt off and spin the pulley by hand and see if it is rough

Yep, and turning the AC on should make it sound worse, although you might have a noisy compressor too so it’s going to add another noise.

Pulley won’t be rough when turning by hand but might have some play and ringing sound to it

Seen them have play and turning by hand you could feel the bearing was gone so not sure what you are saying.

Will do,
So no chance of it being too serious or the timing chain?
if it’s the bearing will I need to replace it?

Timing chains is a rattling noise when cold (sometimes it’s not even the chains themselves, just the tensioner being a bit lazy when cold).

If idler pulley bearing, you’ll have to replace the one pulley. I guess you could try to source the bearing alone and pressing it out/back in but not really worth the hassle.

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
That’s just an accessory noise.
Remove the belt and give all the pulleys a spin and a wiggle to check the idler bearings and play in the bearings.
