So I got to borrow a Thermal imaging camera today and have a feeling my Cat was stuffed so I let the engine warm up and had a look from everything I have read I am guessing it is blocked can anyone confirm according to these photos?

First image is front of cat working back.

what makes you think it's blocked based on those images?

I "Think" this is correct so don't sue me if I'm wrong...

The front of the CAT(Where the headers connect) should be colder than the rear.
E.g. Headers=150 --> Front of CAT = 85 --> Middle CAT= 95--> Rear CAT=110

this is what I am also led to believe that it is blocked. There is a bit of a rattle and it does feel a bit sluggish that is why I checked.

if in doubt cut them out.
Weld in some 200cpi ..... or 100cpi cats in there.
100cpi is illegal but I don't think a cop will crawl under the car and count them

Cats "light up" when working correctly, so they are hotter at the rear than the front. Engine pipes will always be hot as they are close to the engine. If the cat was blocked, the thermal image would show it to be hotter than everywhere else just behind the flange at the front of the cat. The best way to test a cat is with a pyrometer or laser thermometer. When working correctly, it will be at least 10% hotter at the rear. It should be somewhere between 300-400 degrees C.

You need to get it hot by driving it hard for a few minutes then keeping it hot by holding the engine at about 2000rpm while measuring the temperature.
